Residential Services

In accordance with the CLA mission to support people with an intellectual disability “to live a quality life in a state of dignity, with the opportunity to participate fully in their community and to contribute and benefit from societal engagement,”

The Residential Services department provides a home in a community neighbourhood for 3 to 6 individuals with intellectual disabilities who cannot live independently. The focus of the supports is to ensure that Individuals have healthy home environments and are engaged in community activities, employment, education, and social and recreational opportunities. • Personal relationships and a sense of belonging are basic human needs.

  • Continuous learning and development are encouraged and facilitated to develop independence, competencies and skills that enrich the individual’s life.

Supports

  • Provision of supports and services that ensure that Individuals living in residential homes are partaking in healthy home life/living skills appropriate for the abilities.

  • Residential staff teams will ensure Individuals are engaged in community activities, employment, education, and social and recreational opportunities.
